The most beautiful getaway on Cape Cod deserves an equally beautiful website. The managers of The Mooring House, a graciously proportioned inn along the main street of Harwich Port, Massachusetts, approached The Ivy Group for help transforming their website into a visually-appealing, easily navigable online presence.
Visualizing Luxury, Serenity, and Comfort
With a rich nautical history (originally, the home was home to a sea captain) and luxurious, contemporary decor and furnishings, the Mooring House is a boutique rental property in the heart of a historic village on Cape Cod. A perfect location for a week’s vacation, a destination wedding, or a corporate retreat, the Mooring needed a site that enticed visitors to make inquiries. To this end, we had the advantage of stunning photography of the inn’s newly remodeled interior spaces. To communicate the inn’s beach location and reinforce visual branding, the site incorporates icons of anchors and other marine elements. Fresh copy--with headers in an elegant typeface–romances the experience of a stay at The Mooring House.
"Thank you all so much for your work on the website for The Mooring and for your help in preparing for our party. Having The Ivy Group to help out made a huge difference, and I want you all to know that I'm very grateful. You all do a wonderful job!" - Lauren Bauk, Event Coordinator, PBM Capital Group
Beauty and Utility
In addition to showcasing the home's classic Cape Cod charm, we updated the navigation to help guide visitors through the site. The custom-built design was built on a WordPress platform, The Ivy Group's go-to content management system. WordPress enables The Mooring's content manager to edit page titles and meta-descriptions for search results, as well as update content--an important requirement for marketing an event and meeting venue.

An Ongoing Marketing Partnership
The Mooring House has found a marketing partner not only to showcase its attractions but also to provide the support, services, and insights that take full advantage of marketing technologies. It’s one thing to launch a site: it is much better to provide clients with the tools they need to manage it--in particular, a CMS that can be easily accessed by non-technical staff--and support to achieve marketing goals.
For The Mooring House, that additional support includes the development of print collateral for the marketing manager to use on sales calls and ongoing consultation on strategy and outreach. (The first reception for wedding and event planners went off very well!) The history of this property is venerable, and its preservation and restoration, laudable; we are proud to be included in its promotion.
